Since it's inception, CAC Beardsley Community Farm has always been staffed with 1-6 AmeriCorps members. These members are full-time volunteers who assist in the daily management of the farm, run educational and outreach programs, and work with volunteers. Beardsley would not be where it is today without the service of its AmeriCorps members!

AmeriCorps is a full-time paid position, with a living allowance of $12,530. The position also includes health insurance and an education award of $5,920 at the end of the service year (1,720 hours). Applicants must have a high school diploma and be 18-24 years old by the start of the AmeriCorps term. For more information about farm positions available through CAC AmeriCorps, please visit the CAC AmeriCorps website here.

Beardsley Community Farm provided me with a place to connect with the Knoxville community through food. Not only was I able to learn and gain a better understanding of the importance of sustainable urban agriculture and healthy food access, I was also able to share my knowledge with a diverse amount of people and watch them reap the benefits of the farm and its resources.
